Vision Media Wins Two Campaigns and Elections Magazine Reed Awards in TV Ad, Direct Mail Categories

Vision Media Marketing Inc. was announced as a Winner in two categories at the 2016 Stanley F. Reed Awards held on Thursday in Charleston, S.C.
The firm’s two winning submissions, “The Shady Bunch” in the Best Democratic Mayoral Campaign TV Ad category and “La Gran Vida de los Ricos y Mentirosos” in the Best Spanish Language Direct Mail category were both created on behalf of North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco’s victorious re-election campaign in May 2015.One of the industry’s premier honors, the Reed Awards embody excellence in political campaigning, campaign management, political consulting and political design. Vision Media is one of dozens of top political consulting firms to take home a Reed Award, joining several national leaders in the field.

Both the mailer and the television ad reinforced the campaign’s themes of Sacco opponent Larry Wainstein’s questionable residency and enormous wealth, which placed him squarely out of touch with North Bergen voters. Each contains cultural references and humorous copy in addition to top flight art direction and strong concepts. The release of “The Shady Bunch” was covered in numerous news outlets and the ad was widely shared and viewed among New Jersey politicos, and sparked additional coverage when it was announced as a Reed Award finalist.

The event was held at Waterside Restaurant in North Bergen, where approximately 100 guests were treated to the venue’s excellent food and drink service and incredible Manhattan views.

“Like so many successful businesses, Vision Media began as a small side venture and I am so proud to have seen it grow over time into a respected, well-known firm with a great staff and many outstanding clients,” said Vision Media President Paul Swibinski. “This party was an opportunity to say thank you to all the wonderful people who have contributed to our success over the years and to look forward to many more years of effectively and creatively delivering our clients’ messages to the public.”

Vision Media Senior Staff Members Receive Prestigious ESGR Patriot Award

Vision Media Marketing Inc., a full-service New Jersey public relations and media consulting firm, announced that The New Jersey Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) has recognized two of the firm’s employee leaders with its Patriot Award. The Patriot Award honors supervisors who go above and beyond to support a guardsman or reservist employee during their time of service.

Juan Pablo “J.P.” Escobar, a Junior Associate specializing is bi-lingual media outreach and Private First Class in the New Jersey National Guard, nominated his leadership team in early 2014 and the award was presented to the firm in March.

Michael Makarski, a Senior Account Executive and Director of Business Development, and Philip Swibinski, a Senior Account Executive and Director of Digital Strategy, received awards presented by Dr. Maureen McGuire, ESGR Area Chair for New Jersey (pictured) and Tammy L. Cartagena, Program Support Technician.

“As a member of the National Guard, it is often a challenge to balance military obligations with a civilian career,” said Escobar. “The support, flexibility and understanding I’ve experienced from my team at Vision Media made this challenge a lot easier.”

Established in 1972, the ESGR is a Department of Defense organization that supports the relationship between civilian employers and members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Each year service members are asked to recognize employers who provide support of those who serve active duty and longer-term deployments.
